Boring Feb 27, 2010 All it really is is fighting these really huge beasts. The horse is really hard to navigate, there's nobody to talk to, no buildings to go into and the big beasts you have to fight are really hard to fight.
But running around the landscape is kinda fun. Some of the scenery is really pretty but if I had played this before buying it-I would not have spent 20 bucks on it.
Colossi are...big? Feb 19, 2010 The colossi in this game are massive, daunting, creative, and a blast to beat. Whenever you deal a finishing blow to a colossi, you feel an aura of power. You are this tiny guy who just took down a giant. Though the game seems barren at first, once you get an hour in, the world feels giant and awe-inspiring. Once you soon find that you really aren't alone on your journey, due to your loyal steed Argo, it also feels more hospitable. I'm not saying that the monsters are cute, they are beasts, but they are often majestic or fearsome. With simple controls and a good third of the game wandering around without a single enemy in sight may sound boring, but it is deeply rewarding when you find a colossi a decimate it. Saying that, the colossi are brutal, each one taking a half hour on average, but they are puzzles in and of themselves making it more interesting than the normal trial and error bosses in other games. While fighting these bosses, you have to approach them in ways that you never thought that the game would ask you to go, and upon finding the colossi, you stumble upon completely new sections of the land that you never knew about before, all of which of breath taking. After playing two years of the current generation HD consoles, this game still enthraled me more than many of the titles out now. The game is however relatively short, with about seven hours of gaming, but the bosses are so fun, that they make you want more. The wait is on for The Last Guardian, which should come out for the PS3 soon. By the way, the game can be played on any backward compatible PS3s.
greatest game of all time Jan 13, 2010 quite simply put this the greatest game ever. i have played alot of games that range from zelda to uncharted 2 to devil may cry to myst to final fantasy and so much more and i can confidently say this is the greatest game of all time.
Best Game Involving Giant Rock Beasts...Ever Dec 30, 2009 This is my teenage son's review, checked and approved by me:
From the makers of "Ico" comes a breathaking tale of a hero, a sacrificed princess, and 16 giant beasts that you have to kill to beat the game. Now keep in mind that I've only beaten 8 Colossi so far, so I haven't seen everything there is to see yet. But never mind that, on with the review!
Story: 9/10 - A young hero, Wander, makes a bargain with Durmin to kill 16 colossi to revive his deceased love, Mono, who was sacrificed because she had a cursed destiny. Sounds simple, right? For the time being, it is, but it'll start to get interesting by Colossus 8.
Gameplay: 10/10 - Unlike most games these days, which involve beating up massive numbers of enemies while keeping your health intact, there are only 16 enemies in the whole game - the colossi. With all of the space usually given to combat sequences in which the hero is ridiculously outnumbered, there's room free for environmental puzzles and boss sequences that are 10 times more epic than those in most games you find on the market these days.
Graphics: 10/10 - While the graphics aren't as stylized and brilliant as Okami's, they're better than most; the shading and photorealism in the game makes it look just like a real place... well, aside from the giant colossi that'll aim for your head if you disturb them.
Fun: 10/10 - The world-roaming can get a little repetitive, but there's enough variation to keep things interesting for the average (and above-average) gamer, and that includes the bosses. (Giant electric eel, anyone?)
Overall: 39/40 - Almost perfect, with only a little improvement needed in the story department. Still, keep in mind, I've only beaten half the game. I'm not on some of the interesting parts yet. Those who have fully beaten the game will probably have seen some wicked plot material, and that could make all the difference. Either way, don't pass this one up! Especially not if you've already played Ico (which I haven't)!

Big waste of money! Dec 13, 2009 I'm actually rather surprised to see other reviews give this game praise. In my opinion this game is a big snooze and a huge waste of money. There is nothing to the game or story, no adventure, no collecting of items, nothing. I was beyond disappointed and find myself still frustrated by it. I found the game in the adventure section but there is nothing adventurous about the game. The object of the game so go different parts of the land (graphics leave much to be desired) to destroy these Colossi. No problem...well that's the problem there is nothing else to do. Just kill these couple few Colossi and that's it. What the fetch! To make matters worse trying to actually maneuver the main character or his horse was near impossible. The controls were absolutely horrible. I would say this is like a cheap low budget game, complete crap!
