Over all keep hold of the first two ssx style and tricks. They did modify the areas where you snowboard and mad it more of a free range so you can go through the mountain just looking for all the short cut as well as collect items to unlock things. Music was ok, and the game play was very fun, and fast paces, but still could work on it. Loved all the different gear you can put on your player, that is a great improvement in the SSX game.

I still consider this to be the pinnacle of Winter Sports games currently in existence. A lot of the newer (Shaun White, Amped) games are a little more polished (and damn, they should be, they are on next-gen systems!) but frankly, not a whole lot more than this game was on the PS2.
Graphically, its strong. While not photorealistic, the imagery serves the purpose, representing the over-the-top world that the Mountain is. The frame rate is fast, and you are moving down the mountain at blistering pace. The controls are easy to master, but challenging enough that pulling off that multi-combo trick is still a feat. The world is large enough that exploring it all takes quite a while, and the individual parts (terrain parks, pipes, avalanche-prone backcountry) keep it interesting and varied. The weather changes, the atomosphere creates a sense of fun or urgency, and the cities built on the slopes are cool, cool, cool.
Lastly, the music still ranks, in my mind, as the best overall soundtrack in a videogame. Indie music, rare remixes, and multi-genre tracks make this game as cool and outsider as the sport itself used to be.
This is a rare game that I think trumps most releases I can think of in the past decade in terms of overall playability and repeat play value. Really, I can't say enough good things about it - if you ski/board, I'm pretty confident this game will STILL be one the best investments you can make.

I freakin' love this game. I first played years ago, at my friend's house. I hadn't even played, it was my first time, and I was pretty awesome at it. He ended up getting me one of my own. Through the years, I had lost it, and bought a new one, twice. This game is awesome. The music, the characters, the graphics, the story, the interaction, the moves, everything. This is, easily, in my top ten favourite games of all-time. This, more than any of the SSX games, actually. I love everything about this game, not one complaint. It's fun with one, or two people, and friendly enough for the whole family.

This game is absolutely flawless. I was never a fan of snow boarding until I picked up this game. The graphics are good, the controls are simple and natural to the controller, and the music is awesome (higher ground-chili peppers, N.E.R.D., etc.). I bought this game to play on my Ps3. Yes Ps3. The game is that addictive.

great game for the "no snow" days. disk quality was well beyond what i expected for a used game (flawless) and shipping was exceptionally fast. imo, best snowboarding game currently on the market!
