Game could have been better than it is. Feb 05, 2009
By T. BUFORD I would have to say that this game is a good game if it was 2005-2006, but it is not. It is 2008-2009. I feel that this game could have been an awesome game, but Konami did not do a good job with the audio or video. Using poor cover songs and poor graphics. Again if this was 2005 or 2006, it would be a non-issue, but it is not. It's 2008-2009. The game should have had the same quality video and audio of Rock Band 2 and Guitar Hero World Tour. The concept of the game is solid, but not well executed. This game is really designed to be a drummer game with the option to play guitar or bass. If you would like to play a drummer hero game that is about the same quality as Guitar Hero 1, then this game is worth trying. I think that if they have a Rock Revolution 2, they need to resolve these issues.
If you want to know if you need you buy just the game for $20.00 or if you need to buy the game w/drum kit for about $70.00, use this URL http://www.rockband.com/compatibility from a competing game to verify if your existing drums or guitar/bass are compatible.

A pleasent suprise in the competition Mar 26, 2009
By Wiseguy 945 I got this product as it came out in october, and now i see it has dropped drastically in price. now you can pick up the set for around[..] for drums and game, or about 20 for the game itself. Although the songs are cover tunes, they still rock. the drum play is awesome with 7 drums and a huge challenge. They are the most realistic drum play though. Great mix of songs as well. Not quite as fancy as Rockband or Guitar hero world tour, but a nice little value edition for some at home fun. check it out.

SUCKS!!! BUY ROCK BAND OR GUITAR HERO!!! Jul 29, 2009
By Stephen F. Arbogast Ok i thought this would be better then Guitar Hero and Rock Band... I WAS TOTALLY WRONG!!! First song i played was a cover so i was Ok its just 1 cover. Second song a cover then I was like Ok a second cover... Then the third song was a COVER!!! So i was like WTF!! so I went on wiki and it said its has 41 songs on the disk and only 2 songs are the real versions... so 39 songs are COVERS!!! and there are only about 10 songs to download from the Playstion store... Xbox live marketplace and the Wii shop... and GUESS WHAT!!! ONLY ABOUT 4 OR 5 are THE REAL SONGS!!! So they totally screwed up this product... oh and this game don't support VOCALS!!! so you cant sing in the GAME!!! I like the drum set... in my opinion this drum set is my favorite drum set so i think you should try out the drum set out. i think you should get Rock Band 2 or Guitar Hero World Tour.

The truth... Apr 20, 2009

"Rubedo"
The truth is, this game will ALWAYS be better than GHRB purely in terms of depth. I will admit, I've been playing a lot of Konami rhythm games for a while, but Konami was never about appearances.
You should all do some research yourself, but Konami has been doing the Rock Band scene since the late 90's. Ever hear of the games "Guitar Freaks" and "Drummania"? Admittedly, GF only has 3 frets, but the music has more variety and is much mroe expansive. GFDM is already in its 6th arcade release overseas, and the port is coming to the US soon enough. Even so, the 5th release had multiple American covers including my personal favorite: "Almost Easy". It's notable that Konami released this song before Activision did.
On a side-note, Activision has patented Dance Hero and DJ Hero. The former needs no explanation, but DJ Hero is a ripoff of Konami's DJ game, "Beatmania", along with the Korean "DJ Max".
I personally own Rock Revolution, and the multi-layer track editing is fantastic, more than I could have ever hoped for.
The only reason Konami isn't leading this wave of rhythm gaming is because it didn't use strong advertisment for its own products. In all ways, Konami is still superior. The game DOES lack in graphics, but are you honestly looking at the cartoon characters in your silly Guitar Hero games? I rate this game 9.3/10. It's kind of missing the Asian rock status that GFDM had.
