OK, I really want to like this remote. I have wanted a PS3 remote for a year and have occasionally read reviews to pick the right remote.
The Sony branded PS3 remote is waaay too big, no backlight, and poorly placed buttons (Too easy to push the wrong button).
The Good:
Small, just the right size. Minimal well-placed buttons. Inexpensive.
The Bad:
No backlight (However the buttons are outlined in white and the button count is small enough that they are easy to remember). The biggest problem is that the remote MUST BE POINTED EXACTLY at the receiver for it to work. Even pointed exactly the receiver part will light up with a red flash and still not work---so you have to push it a couple times.
If something changes I will update this review, like maybe new batteries will make a difference, but I doubt it because it does light up red, so I know it received the signal.
I will continue to use it because it still seems to the the best PS3 remote available. Just make sure your PS3 is straight ahead and you point the remote directly at it.

I did not have either of the problems the other reviewers described (lag & having to point the remote directly at the receiver.) Its always worked exactly as I would expect a remote to.
This remote works great as an inexpensive, basic PS3 remote. Highly recommended, especially with how low the price is.

I got the remote but not the small connector so that the remote will hook up to my ps3. So with out this part all I have is a useless remote.

I was really dissapointed with this product, the response time between pushinga button and the machine performing your action has a distinct lag.
