 great use of a gamers time Jul 20, 2010
mercinaries is gta in a warzone, which makes killing justifyible. in my opinion it is the best T-rated game out for ps2. You may either freee-roam and destroy things and just blow stuff up or do missions to beat the game. after you beat the game it starts all over but you get to kepp alll your stuff from your last game. Weapons, vehicals, enviorment and charactors aremind blowing. the only down fall is the story line is a little bland. All-and-all this is one of the most creative andenjoyable game not just for the ps2 but for any consol. I give it a 9.5/10

this is way better than mercenaries 2 for xbox 360 the problem is the graphic suck compared to xbox 360 but there are many cheats and the weapons u can get with cheats u can get the street sweeper and i remember the unlimited health cheat and here it is

This game to me was a fun free roaming game and that you should buy, PS DO NOT GET THE SECOND ONE BECAUSE IT SUCKED!!!!

I bought this because one of my friends bought the second one and liked it so I bought both. This one was very good at first with great grafics for 2004. The plot was pretty good, not as good as two's. BAsically your a mercenary that is trying to get the president of north korea and get paid $100,000,000. I realy like the characters in this game more than in the second one, even though they are the same. what really surprised me is that this has more content than Mercs 2 for the PS3. The map is slightly bigger. There are more weapons and a few more vehicles. But the mainthing that makes this game not as good as number two is the fun facter. Hijacking vehicals is more complex, but in a good way in stead of tapping triangle once(Mercs 1) you and a tank commander fight to the death ontop of the tank(Mercs 2). Mercs 2 also has online coop while 1 forces you to play buy yourself. I like this and that is the fact that Mercs 1 is a lot harder than Mercs 2. So with its nonstop action and its epic map, but with no coop or as good of a story as Mercs 2 it gets a 4 out of 5. This is a great pick up and play game for you mature casual gamers. BTW don't miss my Mercs 2 review going up tomorrow.

Although Mercenaries is an older game it has some of the best features I have ever seen in any game. For example the different factions you can work for, (my favorite). Also the variety of weapons available in the game, plus the amount of vehicles and air strikes you can buy. And this part is unbelievable it has a good/great story line.
I want to keep this review short so let me give you the rundown. The graphics are a six and a half out of ten, so pretty fair. The gameplay is about an eight out of ten. Length ten out of ten, long but not to long. I would keep going but lets just say that the only weakness this game has is the inability to swim and lack of boats, other than that it's in my top 5 list. If you want more graphics and are willing to sacrifice length I suggest Lara Croft Tomb Raider Legend perfect polish. The only other game I liked equally was Ace Combat 5 The Unsung War. Has the best story line I have ever seen in a game for any system(and I have had a Gamefly account for about 3 years so I know what I am talking about). This however is the first review I have ever written so let me know how I did, and what I need to improve on (note I am 14 years old so keep that in mind when reading this). So until next time.
