 An Enjoyable Game Oct 18, 2009
I am surprised to see so many negative comments about this game. I have been a serious baseball fan for most of my 40+ years and find this an enjoyable and (usually) believable simulation. I have played some classic nail-biting games with my sons - the Bosox and Yanks in particular have produced some memorable moments as one might expect. I enjoy the commentary which is (usually) relevant and sensible. The player interface is at the right level (not too much, almost absurd, detail as one finds in some other games). There are some problems with base running (e.g. difficult to tag up from third without also sending a runner at first to second as well). Fielding some flyballs can be frustrating. But, generally, if you learn the controls well and play a human opponent, this is an immensely enjoyable and believable game. Player abilities tend to be a good reflection of their stats. But, remember that in your first few outings scores will be like a footbal game, with errors in the double digits. After a few hours of play, with decent starting pitchers, scores tend to fall in a reasonable range. It is well worth buying in my opinion.

The game is an alright game. Cant play it too long cause its the same thing over and over again. It is a simple and not much too it baseball game. I'd encourage you too buy it at a cheap price. The franchise is cool though. you can do a lot of different things in the franchise. Overall, its a good game.

I bought this game a week ago and it's already getting old. The same thing keeps happening over and over and over again. Unless you want to do gm mode only rent this game.
