1Oops - Wireless but not free for an IR  Sep 29, 2010 By E. Benson "Ed B."
I should have known this: since I now see a USB in the picture. The information about the remote does NOT say but this unit does not have the same radio controlled functionality of the playstation. The usb is the sensor for it IR built into the remote. I guess that they do not have the huevos to say so.

If the PS3 is not in direct line of sight to the user (as can be done with the radio controller) you might as well give hand signals - this will do as much good as the remote.

As with other cheaply bought mistakes, this one goes into the trash.

4It works.  Sep 22, 2010 By H Ward
Having read some negative comments about the Sony PS3 remote, particularly regarding the "stop" button, I decided to try another type of remote for my PS3, and save some money in the process. This one just came in the mail today, and I tried it out with a couple of Blu-Rays. Yes, it does work. You just put 2 AAA batteries in it, plug the little USB do-hickey into the front of the PS3, and it's working, just like that.

Now, about the "stop" button. It acts exactly the same as the "play/pause" button. Push it once, the picture pauses, push it again, it starts playing again. Weird, but not that big of a deal. Also, when the PS3 pops up the question, "Are you sure you want to stop playback of the Blu-ray?", and you push the "enter" button for "yes", instead of actually stopping like you told it to, it goes back to playing the movie. ?!? Again, weird, but not a deal-breaker. In fact, based on my five minutes of using this thing, apparently, there is no way to completely "stop" the movie? You just have to go up to the PS3 and push the "eject" button I suppose? LOL Again, very weird, but I still much prefer this over using the PS3 game controller for watching Blu-Rays or DVD's. You get used to it pretty fast. Not perfect, but much better than trying to remember what the "square button" does, and the "triangle button", etc., on the PS3 game controller. Based upon five minutes of use, I'd recommend it. If it turns into a brick within the next few weeks, I'll let you know.

2Disapointed  Sep 11, 2011 By Sean T. Geoffroy "Seageo"
This remote is a major disapointment.

For one, it is really small...probably 6inches long. It uses a USB drive that the remote sends an infra red signal to. The range is really small you have to be almost directly in front for it to work. Also, whhen you are watching a blu ray and you want to adjust subtitles or the sound in the middle of a movie, you cant because the remote wont navigate the screen.

I bought this because I kept dropping or bumping into the PS3 remote control which would skip a scene. I figured this would save the hassle. Its actually harder to operate than the controller.

5Work's Great! even on Netflix!!!  Jul 09, 2011 By David Matthews
works Great, except I sometimes have to rotate my ps3 a bit to get good reception.
I bought this on eBay but it looks to be the same model.

PS3 Netflix controls:

Remote Button-|-Action
--------------|--------
Stop |OK/go to submenu/Resume
Play |Back/Pause/Resume/Play Selected title (Netflix main menu only)
Display |Video info
Enter |Stop Video/Back
--------------|---------

The controls are a bit messed up but after a some time, you'll get used to them.

3Okay cause it's cheap  Dec 01, 2010 By Chiztian G
I ordered this i don't want to waste my money on buying the sony remote so i tried this one. It's simple to operate but the only weird thing is that the enter button acts as a PS button and the stop is actually the enter
