Not what I expected. Apr 04, 2004
By Chris When I purchased this memory card, I thought I would basically have a regular memory card with more save game space. I was wrong. First of all, if you want to play ANY game that uses this memory card, you need to boot your PS2 with the Max Memory disc. This usually takes 30 seconds to a minute and after pressing a few keys on your controller, you are then prompted to insert the regular game disc. This was a pain in the you-know-what and I found myself hating the regular boot ups. Also, the memory card is already included with numerous save games for several PS2 titles which is another nuisance because I want the memory card for its extra space, I don't want to fill it up with wasteful save games. I also heard that this product breaks more easily than the standard PS2 cards. All in all, this product is more of a gimmick item than a useful PS2 accessory. My advice is to stick with two regular PS2 memory cards and leave this product alone. I ended up returning mine, I'm sure I'm not the first person to do that.

False Marketing and Corrupted Game Files May 12, 2004
By Bowen Turetzky The package doesn't say anything about having to boot up off an included disc to use untill you open it up. And if it wasn't bad enough having to boot up off a seperate disc everytime you wanted to use the card the first time I used it I compressed all my unused games onto the Max card and then tried to delete them off my old card... not only did delete my entire card instead of just the files I copied the card is no longer recognizable by the PS2 system or any games I have. It still shows up when I use the MAX OS disc, but none of the files are accessable by the games that use them.Shortly after that all the files coppied over became corrupted, so now all of my saved files are gone. I'm not sure if I received a faulty card but I am very dissatisfied either way.

Must use included cd Aug 14, 2004

Everyone else who has written here has valid points, one other thing I would like to add is that you are required to boot up with their cd first. Unfortunately, it is one of the mini-cd's so if you have your playstation standing vertical, there is no way for the disc to stay in place. Stay away from this junk.

DO NOT BUY! Aug 13, 2004
By Reviewer Buying this memory card was a complete waste of money. First of all, every time you want to use the card, you have to load a disc to boot up the card. This was definitely not included on the outside packaging of the product.
After transferring saved files from my old memory card to the Max Memory card, all of my old files were corrupted and my Playstation no longer recognizes the old card. In addition, the files saved to the Max Memory card couldn't be accessed either.
I was definitely going to return this product, but, unfortantely, I dropped the card, which promptly shattered when it hit the floor.
So pretty much, I spent around $25 to delete all my saved files and render another memory card useless. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!

re-stating: Do Not Buy This! Sep 22, 2004
By Luke W. Preston I have experienced everything that everyone else has regarding this memory card. You can't use the PS2 in the vertical position, you have to insert the cd before every game (which gets especially annoying if the game locks up and you need to restart.) You can't transfer files to another card without them being corrupted, and now the card seems to have stopped working so I can add no more saves. Please do not buy this, just get the standard 8mb card and be safe.
