 Fantastic Game! Mar 08, 2010
BioShock was the first game I ever played that was a first person shooter. I thought the gameplay was great and really fun. The story is almost better than the gameplay itself. The story is filled with mystery and has many shocking twists through the game. One thing I liked is that it was totally original. Whether it was the settings, the story, or the characters, I have never seen anything like it. There are so many weapons you can use and three different types of special ammo for each of those weapons. You can also use plasmids which are like special powers and they are very easy to use. You can upgrade almost everything in this game when you get enough money. The PS3 version has trophy support and DLC challenge rooms. The game has impressive graphics and terrific voice acting. This is a must own game for anyone that likes video games. If you aren't sure if you would like it, just download the demo on the PlayStation Store.

classic game - still tons of fun Mar 07, 2010
Bought this to play before bioshock 2. Great game, love the old-timey sci-fi underwater backdrop. No sense at all that this is an "old" game. Will definitely be purchasing BioShock 2 once I've finished this original classic.

I might need to take time and reinvest in trying to play it, but at the moment this game doesn't do it for me.
I feel like it is missing something, and because of that I can't really enjoy it. The map is cumbersome and confusing and it is easy to die and come back and keep fighting. The inventory management and hacking could use some tweaks too.
I bought this game in anticipation of the sequel, now I don't really want to play the sequel which is apparently a copy of this game with some minor adjustments. If you can get it cheap, then I can recommend it, but don't pay more than 20.00 for this game.
Given enough time and nothing else to play I might have enjoyed this more, as it is now I'm going to wait and return to it later.

I own this on xbox 360, ps3 and PC. While the PC graphics are indeed the best of the 3, the ps3 graphics blow the 360 version out of the water. Maybe that's because they had more time to perfect them, but this is true 1080p compared to the 360's 720. The story, characters and atmoshphere in this game cannot be beat. Do yourself a favor and pay 16 bucks for this game, it is worth every penny!
