As a frequent traveler who heavily depends on portable electronic devices to kill painful flight time, I was looking for nothing fancy but a practical case that will 1). prevent my PSP from being smashed in my carry-on, 2). prevent scratches (something PSP is doomed for if left unprotected), and 3). allow me to still carry the gear in my pocket.
This case would serve all these purposes. I won't call it hard-shelled but the exterior is definitely sturdy enough against drops and minor impacts/smashes (say squeezed in your backpack; w/o this a PSP can easily break in half). Nothing to say on the interior really - there are two elastic strings that will keep your PSP in tact once inserted into the case.
One big drawback though is how compact it is. Your PSP 2000 will fit so perfectly that it leaves absolutely no room for other accessories, not even a pair of bud-style earphones. Just something to consider for those who love to put devices and accessories together like I do.
Other than that, it's a good case for $5.

This case isnt bad for the price. It holds my PSP 3000 well. Has enough room for about 4 games/movies and maybe some small earbud headphones. Isnt reall a hard case more like a firm case. It is sturdy enough for most drops but dont think it will handle any kind of sever impact. Overall a good buy for anyone who is looking for a travel/storage case.

Pretty decent amount of resistance. Will not really protect from major impact, but is sturdy enough in case of drops or rubbing against other objects.
Has enough room for three UMDs... barely. I usually just keep the PSP in the case when I am not using it at home to prevent dust from getting into the seams or in case I knok something onto it or knock it off the shelf accidentally. Doesn't make much sense for a travel case unless you only take along a couple of UMDs and don't mind having the headphones in a pocket or such.
If you are like me though, this is a great case to pop the PSP into then place in your backpack. Since I ride a lot on my bike, it makes sense. Plus I always carry headphones for my phone anyway... so it works for me.
Also of note: There is the small wrist strap included, but it doesn't really fit well onto the PSP strap clasp. I use the aftermarket Nintendo Wii remote wrist straps instead for the PSP itself. They are more comfortable anyway. But for $4.99 it's worth it.
And the third party I bought it from offered the case with Prime shipping and it arrived in the two days and in perfect condition. Happy with them, and I've bought from them before. (OEM Planet)

Very good for price, I keep 3 games 2 extra memory cards and small folding earphones tucked into case with no problems. Admittedly I have PSP 3000 and this case seems ideal for that model. Not too bulky, and just sturdy enough for carrying in another bag. Highly recommend as reasonable accessory for new owners.
