 Weak game. Bad graphics. Sony needs more split screen games!!! Mar 13, 2010
Worst part of this game is the graphics. What a let down. I felt like I had a PS2 game. The "over the shoulder" game play view is annoying and difficult to see enemies and terrain. I have Killzone 2, the new Modern Warfare and the new Battlefield. I love all of them, but this game was a huge letdown. My friend and I got bored and frustrated with the game after an hour and now I ordered the new Resident Evil in hopes it has a better 2 player split screen experience. The Modern Warfare split screen is awesome but limited. I really wish they made an extensive 2 player split screen game. It would be so fantastic to play through Killzone, Battlefield or MW with a friend on the same machine. I'm sick of playing on line and having all these dorks just sitting in the same hiding spot and killing people all day and night long while they sprout roots out their ass and into the couch. I guess Sony wants everyone to get two PS3's and put two TV's side by side and do the on line game play BS. Wake up Sony and stop being such a greedy evil empire. Now I see why Michael Jackson sued them.

First off, if you are expecting this game to be anything similar to the first...it's not. The graphics aren't the same (and def. not better, just more detailed), the voices aren't the same, the plot line isn't remotely the same, and the controls are NOT the same. The game is made to look very "comic book style," no doubt to promote the new Army of Two comic book release. This game could be finished in two days by average gamers. There is no real plot line to the game, and ultimately you are in the same city for the whole game. Even all of the "enemies" look exactly the same. The weapon customization is much better this time around, but of course even that has a HUGE downfall. You have to hit a check-point or you're weapon nor any customization you made to it, will not be saved. Not only are the weapons not saved, but if you drop a weapon and pick up another one you have to customize your weapon all over again (where as in the 1st, the customizations were saved even if you weren't using the gun). So unbelievably dissappointed in this game.

This a fun game, but the graphics aren't all that great. It also didn't take long at all to beat. even on hard, i got through it in about two days.

Let's get one thing straight from the top, the first game irritated a lot of people. This game is better in regards to those aspects but in building a better game they've developed a few other problems. The game has a bunch of bugs. Sound issues, graphics glitches, getting dropped from game sessions. But they did manage to make an enjoyable game despite this. Of course that's assuming you play the entire game with a good friend. I've only briefly played this game in single player mode, 98% of the time I've played this game I've been doing it with a buddy.
Sounds issues. The voices occasionally cut out in cinemas. You'll be left scratching your head as to why nothing is being said for several seconds before a sudden spontaneous event, other times you hear nothing then die and restart only to hear a bunch of exposition that you missed. Sometimes I'd have to listen to my friend's TV through my bluetooth headset to even know what was going on. Sometimes the game music that's supposed to end when you complete a level wouldn't and would play through the cinema making it hard to hear what people were saying. I mean really you can't play through this one full time without experiencing one of these issues.
Graphical Glitches. not entirely game breaking or anything but things can occasionally be obvious mistakes like a building in one pivotal scene when I played was destroyed. getting killed and needing to see the cinema again before I could play showed the building already destroyed when the cinema played.
I have Broadband, verizon ADSL. It's not the fastest but it's suitable for most games that are well programed in most situations. Sometimes I have to try connecting 3 or 4 times to my friend who hosts using FiOS, because ElectronicArts' servers have a problem with my connections speed. I end up having to disconnect and reconnect every time I want to join my friend. and If I get disconnected during the game I have to sign out and back in again.
Again I'll say it's not a horrible game, When it works it's really fun and gives you a true sense of joy to play. But when control issues crop up (to heal your friend in battle you have to press X and hold it. X is also the button to dash, frequently leading you to run past your friend and into danger or keeping you from healing them just before they die.) Check points are also a bit far in between sections, You might have to do 2 very difficult parts of a stage before you making it to a half way point or boss meaning each time you die you have to rewatch an unskippable cinema and play through those sections again. The cinemas arent long but if you reach a particularly tough stage you could see that story sequence 5 or 6 times before you get through. But the graphics are good, the music services the story well, the environment feels realistic and the feeling of being trapped in a city under siege by terrorists is well represented. Weapons offer numerous opportunities to customize your game play. You can create custom masks on EAs website with a nice editor and upload them to your game. There's multiplayer vesrus gaming to enjoy as well. But those bugs are a definite mark against what would otherwise be a fun game.
Try before you buy. The Playstation Network store has a demo that does a good job of demonstrating what you will experience in the final version of the game.

When I first picked this game up I thought it was going to be great, you know, with the weapon modding and all. After playing the game for an hour or so it already got boring. But that's just me, it's in 3rd person, I personally prefer first person. I think CoD MW:2 is much better since they give you the option to play in 3rd person as well. As far as the story-line goes, I give it a 4/5 stars. The graphics? 3/5 stars, I think they could improve on the graphics, I'm a little disappointed with this one. The last thing I will be reviewing is the Online PLay. I think the max players is 10? Wow. How terrible. I should have gotten MAG. The resale value on this game is only 23-28 dollars so watch out if you buy it. If you don't like it, you've just wasted a lot of money.
