the best thing since sliced bread. Nov 21, 2000
By Ian Davys If you are disabled like myself, and only have one hand that works and you enjoy the playstation than this ASCII grip is one of the most important item you could ever pick up! There is no other controllers that I could possibely use. Well done to Agetec for producing this model i just hope that when we get the PS2 (which launches here on the 24 Nov 00) it will still work otherwise i will be wacthing a lot of DVD untill another one handed controller comes out.

incredible!! Dec 25, 2002
By Benjamin H Ellis I had a stroke 5 years ago, so I only have use of my right hand. I would probably have rolled up into a little ball and wilted away if not for this controller. The ease of use is absolutely awesome. The slight problem with configuration of tne buttons can usually be resolved within the individual game. In the rare instance that it cannot, a little practice and perseverence will generally do the trick. I am currently finding that my new games,{which all seem to be analog}, are not responding to this controller and I am losing my mind trying to find a way to either make it work or find a ps2 model. IS THERE ONE ?

Fits better in your hand for long term play. Sep 27, 2000 I am a game tester for a company that develops for the Playstation, I spend upwards of 40 hours a week with my hands wrapped around a controller, and I LOVE this thing!!! (I use it as often as possible.) It fits very naturally and comfortably in either hand while making it easy for you to flip through a strategy guide/walkthrough, or take notes, or open a can of soda, or whatever. It did take some getting used to but it wasn't long before I adjusted. I'm not sure how the Grip would work with anything other then RPG/Survival Horror and Strategy games (That's all I've been using it for so far.) I really don't think it would be good for fighting games, because of the way the triangle, square, circle, and ex buttons are set up. (But, as I said, I haven't tried it yet.) If you're the kind of person who ends up spending hours on a game in a sitting, use this thing! You're hands will thank you for it. (I hope they do one for the PS2.)

One-handed wonder Feb 28, 2000 The Agetec ASCII Grip is a great addition to any Playstation owners collection. This one-handed controller is light, comfortable and easy to use. It has all the necessary buttons of a standard Playstation Controller only it leaves one hand free to do other things like graphing a map or jotting down notes while you play your favorite video game. This controller is mostly recommended for use with RPG or strategic-type games. This item gets 4 stars simply because it's a one-handed wonder.
